She used to always get the first question, but Ari Fletcher ignored her and I think there was a minor uproar.

But from the outset, it was clear to other nations that he was outgunned and outmanned by the neo-conservatives in the White House and the Pentagon.

Is it just me, or has neo-con become a major RAT (i.e neo-lib) talking point since the election?

Well, Ms Thomas, we really aren't interested in your tunnel vision opinion, but let me give one of my thoughts:
We don't need an appeaser. Appeasing doesn't work. It's
time to take off the gloves to discredit the likes of you and your misleading cohorts.

It means that right-wing left-wing ideologues who believe in pre-emptive war waiting to be attacked and who ignore international treaties will be in charge of U.S. foreign policy during President Bush's second term President Clinton's entire Presidency.

Helen needs to invest in some 'breathe rigth strips' or something. This woman is fuzzy wuzzy.

And Helen sends a very, very bad message to the world in regards to American womanhood.

She is so ugly that the press corps ties a bottle of gin around her neck just to get the other reporters to talk to her.

Gee, what a surprise that the Seattle PI carries this hag's columns. "Even for Powell, always known as a "good soldier," it must have been frustrating to be thwarted by those who were pushing a different hard-edged agenda. "

I think Powell knew completely the task ahead when he took the job. If he wants it his way, then he should run for higher office.

Poor Helen. It must be tough to look upon a Condi Rice; attractive, brilliant, respected and appointed to positions of great prestige.

Jealousy rears its ugly (and I do mean ugly) head.

…who ignore international treaties …

Same old stuff. I have yet to see where we have violated any international treaties that we have ratified and agreed to.

You won't catch her out of the loop or freelancing.

Does this mean she’ll actually do her job? Isn’t State an arm of the Executive?

It is in fact the left that surrounds themselves with people telling them what they want to hear. Its why they thought Kerry was going to win the election b/c they did'nt know anybody voting for Bush? I also failed to hear any of this same sort of thing with the Krinton administration.

"Diplomacy is not her strong suit...."

The Secretary of State should never be a diplomat. We have too many of those as it is.
