I have two as well. I think everyone should have two :o) I hit clays at 200 all the time with mine plus they are designed to work anywhere and under very bad conditions. Have a buddy that had one that was rusted to heck and it still worked and shot well.

My first SKS was a gift I got back in the early 90s. (Blade bayonet.) When I started cleaning it, I actually "cleaned" small holes in the gas chamber. (Talk about rust.)

But that rifle shot (and shoots) like a dream - very good accuracy. (Gotta' love chrome lined barrels.) And even with the holes in the gas chamber (which I covered with Reynolds Wrap), it's never failed to cycle.

The darn thing impressed me so much, I purchased a brand-new Chinese SKS with spike bayonet. I've never regretted owning either of them. And with the inexpensive, steel-cased imported ammo, the SKS is relatively cheap to shoot (for a centerfire).

It's just a shame that so many people apparently think "inexpensive" means "cheap junk".

I like them, they were designed before the AK and were proven in battle. Several models and varients were made, even Egyptians had them, "Rashid" was the name of them.

We use them out on the farm, treat them like crap and they still work well.

I have a 54 tula arsenal all matching #'s (Russian blade) and a norico (14" pig sticker) I dont shoot them much anymore and there in storage. There good rifles to have around. I keep 20rd mags in them. I remember back in the early 90's you could get them for 70-80 bucks.
