Kudos to you!
Those so-called evil breeds... I have always said: "Show me a mean dog and I'll show you a worse owner." I have lived around dogs all my life and have NEVER been bit by one, nor mine or other peoples'. I am not afraid of them, I respect them and I just give them their space and time to get to know me. I trust dogs much more than humans, and would probably do for a dog a few things I would not do for a human. Koo-koo? Maybe!
By the way, today I had one of the most awful experiences: when I walked out in the garden, I saw something in the pool, which I thought was a raven... we have had the most windy and cold nights lately. To my horror, it was a little dog, a Chihuahua! I cried my eyeballs out! I have no clue where the little thing came from and no idea how she ended drowned in my pool! I could not get myself to pull the poor thing out, so I asked a neighbor to do it. I called the number on her tag and am still waiting for a return call. Just horrible!
Good for your poochie and good for you for finding happiness.
Nasty people who are mean to animals are SICK inside, IMO.
Turns out, the evil baby-killer is my (now) two-year-old daughter's staunchest protector and best pal. Of course, part of that might have to do with the fifteen pounds she's packed on since my daughter started table food. Went from 75 to 90 in like three weeks. Still thinks she's a lap dog, too (and to me, she is!)
