Naw Xena, I won't be threatening you or yours, I've seen you in action on your TV show, and I would rather keep all my appendages.

Yes, and those people tire of the stupidity rather quickly too.

Then, maybe it would be a good time to log off. Go outside. Take a walk. Breath fresh air. Enjoy the weather, and get a freaking grip.

you are saying be fearful of speaking because someone might blow your brains out and someone like you will make sure they go free, if you relate to them.

Incorrect assumptions once again by you.....I'm done trying to relate sensibly with you, normy. Bye, bye.

Hey, that's not me . . . that's the Boss Lady there! If she hears you confusing us, she'll think I put you up to it, and then she'll go upside my head so hard, my name will swell.

I expected no less.

Glad I could deliver then.

By the way, who needs to "get a freaking grip?" The person who seriously believes it is 'okay' to kill a human over ANY animal, or the person who is offended by such amoral foolishness?

Have a 'nice' day.

Article said he pushed and shoved her so, if true, sounds like she has already been threatened and/or physically abused. Possibly for years.

She also said he had gone hunting. Do you think she could have lied about what he said also??? What if she has a boyfriend and wanted rid of her husband??? She had plenty of time to make up a "believable" story.

This lady is going to jail. It ain't self-defense if you follow the guy out the door, blow him away and then attempt to cover up the deed, all supposedly over a verbal threat against an animal. If she was just a hapless victim of repeated abuse who finally had enough, why didn't she call 911 after shooting the guy instead of carting him off to the well? She may not get Murder 1, but I'll bet she does some serious time.

I understand people cherish their pets, but get a grip.
To all these posters boasting they'd off anyone who even
glances threateningly at Poochie - yeah right.

The one taking offense, of course.

I can't believe the responses either Normy.

Police say a woman went to a Beaver County police station and admitted fatally shooting her husband after he threatened to kill their pets.

This threatened to kill the pets story may be a lie, a cover story for some other reason.

Anyway you don't kill a person because they threaten you or a pet. You file a restraining order, have Uncle Rocco talk to him, bring in the Priest, move to a family members house or get a divorce.

Normy, this post 5 says it all.

Know what? I don't blame her either. Love me, love my dog, my cat, my fish... and so on. Besides that, a hunter? No regard for life in general. The next threat would have been against her or a human member of the family!

To much tough talk on this thread. Just talk...

You're original post...
Seems like that. IMHO, anyone who threatens to hurt or kill (or actually does hurt or kill) a defenseless animal (ALL animals are defenseless if compared to a human being, if for nothing else, because humans are supposed to reason and animals allegedly do not)is lacking something inside. Serial killers usually start torturing and killing animals and then they move on to do the same with humans.
Humans sometimes kill and torture for a so-called pleasure, animals kill for food, territory or the preservation of the species.
Humans abort their babies, and sometimes kill them after they are born. Animals kill to protect their babies.
A dog will give you unconditional love and loyalty, will not betray you, will stick with you even if you beat him or starve him of treat him like sh... a human being will drop you like a hot potato in similar circumntances.

What I stated,republican4ever, is that animals protect themselves and their species before their offspring. Not themselves first and species second. And the point of my post was in response to your original post in which you stated"Humans abort their babies, and sometimes kill them after they are born. Animals kill to protect their babies."And MY point was that you insinuate Animals protect their young when they in fact kill them more frequently than humans do.
ALL breeds of dog have been known to attack. Some just more frequently than others. So,no, it's not just Pit bulls and dog's bred for fighting. There have been many cases of toy breeds choking newborns. ALL dogs have the capacity to kill.

What? You cant blame her for killing a person over animal threats? Go back to school and learn some morals.

Free2BeMe:
Thanks for the clarification. I know all dogs can attack (just take a look at the smaller breeds... they're nasty!)
I was only trying to explain that the breeds most associated with insane attacks on people were bred for that purpose (attack and figthing, I mean).
Animals need to preserve the species, at any cost. Otherwise, they go bye-bye forever, as a species!
In a way, we do the same, but with the regulations imposed by law. Hence, the exceptions to killing as self-defense and as punishment by the State as opposed to killing for the insurance money or over being passed on the freeway too aggressively.
Most impotant lesson I learned today:
Hunters are not all heartless bastards. The great majority are not and they do play a part in keeping things in balance. I will try my very best to see them in a new light.
Most important things I remembered today:
We live in the best place on Earth, were we can agree to agree and to disagree.
Being part of FR is sooooooo much fun, educational and a sure site to get your adrenalin flowing!

It's just my opinion, but I believe that nearly all the posters think there was much more to the husband's previous behavior than these particular threats to the pets.

I agree 100%. Normal, stable people don't just go around threatening to kill the family pets. Note - there is a big difference between pets and "animals". I am surprised that some are confusing the two!

I have one of those "evil breeds" too (a pic of her is on my freep profile). My brother gave her to me when I was two months pregnant and my in-laws were HORRIFIED. "It'll eat the baby!" they screamed.

Turns out, the evil baby-killer is my (now) two-year-old daughter's staunchest protector and best pal. Of course, part of that might have to do with the fifteen pounds she's packed on since my daughter started table food. Went from 75 to 90 in like three weeks. Still thinks she's a lap dog, too (and to me, she is!)
