Christianity works on reason and free will. It is true some people have perverted it, and tried to force it...but what Christ taught was love of God...acceptance of His atonement...not compulsion.

That is the distinguishing difference between how Christianity and Islam attempts to "spread the word". Islam is through compulsion, either governmental, or the sword.

The rest of your rant is baseless. The things you quote or attribute from the Bible may have been true in some respects in the Old Testament with the Mosaic Law, but not with Christ.

One thing it teaches is clear...Jesus Christ is the only name or avenue to salvation. But that decision, whether a person accepts Him or not, whther a person follows Him or not, is their free will decision...indeed it must be, or one would not be able to adopt and live the lifestyle and commandments He taught from their heart...and the heart is what counts.

Hope that helps...and that you find some peace.

... and it never was as perverted as a lot of people believe. For instance, the Inquisition didn't try people for openly being Muslem or Jewish. It was established to prevent Muslem infiltration into the Catholic Church at a time when Europe was trying to establish control over Iberia. Those who were openly Muslem were not considered a threat.

(To be fair, King Ferdinand of Spain did deport the Jewish population, eventually. But this was not out of Christian conviction that the Jews must convert. His stated intention was that he feared the commonfolk would launch a pogrom and he wanted the Jews exiled safely while they could. Natch, Jews don't exactly think kindly of Ferdy.)
