He then added his intention to radically redo the tax code — which includes entertaining such ideas as entirely abolishing the Internal Revenue Service by going to a national sales tax.

Wow. This would be the best thing to happen in this country in a long time.

Our economy, though the best in the world, is not running on all eight cylinders owed to the impediments to capital formation and work due to the punishment our tax code inflicts on entrepreneurs, employers, and investors.

Not to mention lack of complicity and wasted labor spent on tax preparation due to its complexity....not to mention the graft which the progressive tax creates and fosters within our political system.

In addition, the POOR have the most to gain, as the TURBOCHARGED new economy with increased incentives to work and invest would truly improve with removal of the disincentive employers now have to employ them.

Losers? The tax preparation industry and lobbyists.

An accountant friend of mine, who puts country over career, supports a national Sales Tax like the Fair Tax proposal. He says that he can get another job, but we only have one America, despite what John Edwards says.

The biggest loser to a Fed tax replacing the IRS would be the KGB syndrome of fear and control the IRS is used for.

Look for dims to fight this vigorously, it's a tool they depend on.

This is not a new idea - it's been in the wings for several years - but I think "W" is the maybe the only one strong enough to get it thru

This would one of the biggest tools for freedom we will see in our lifetimes
