[ The charter company owner said the average hammerhead is about 7 to 8 pounds, and the one that Farmer caught Sunday was one of the biggest he's ever seen. ]

I fished Ft. Laderdale water for 30 years.. thats bull... MOST hammerheads I've seen are several humdred pounds.. maybe not 500 lbs but several hundred anyway.. at least 150 lbs..

Caught a baby hammerhead once and bopped it on the head to get the hook out. When I threw it back in the thing swam around in circles with it's head out of the water attacking the side of the boat.

Saw a large hammerhead once while trolling in the Gulf Stream. He was riding inside a swell so we got a good view of his whole length....he sniffed our bait and wasn't interested, just kept on cruising.
