The weapon used was not an assault weapon according to the definition of "assault weapon". It was a self-loading carbine. An assault weapon is a select-fire intermediate range rifle.

Well, It is really a Chinese AK47 knockoff.We have a number of hunters around here that use them.
Frankly, I find them to be lacking the accuracy for a one shot drop.
I have a friend who swears by his, but he had it modified for a scope.

The SKS is evil only because it's cheap. Nonsense. Cheap is good, if quality is acceptable. The SKS costs a bit less than a Ruger 10/22 these days.
The SKS is evil because of its trigger pull. If you've fired one, you know to what I refer.
