You want anger, you ain't seen nothing yet.
"President George W. Bush has told his Mexican counterpart he campaigned for re-election on immigration reform..."
I love W, but that's a stinking lie.
Guest worker program = Amnesty illegal Mexicans
Don't do it George...
I love W, but that's a stinking lie.
W has ALWAYS said he's for immigration reform.
China has a wall called 'great'.
The USA should construct a 'greater wall' and Haliburton should be awarded the no bid construction contract.
Bush didn't campaign on immigration reform. He knew better than to start running that smack until after the election.
"W has ALWAYS said he's for immigration reform."
Yeah, I know that, but he did NOT campaign on it. Give me a quote, a cite, and I'll be open minded. But insofar as I read the subject was hardly mentioned by either campaign.
And W is very misguided on this whole subject. We need to END immigration NOW, and re-sort the entire subject out.
Vincente Fox better get a better plan for the Mexican people that sending them into the desert and out of the country.
More complaints will be sent to Congressman by U.S. citizens who are tired of laws not being enforced.
Agreed - Uphold the laws - no excuses!
If we didn't put out the news of our open borders - so many wouldn't be coming here - It's like open season on America - and we have McCain, President Bush, and others to thank -
Prosecutors in the states heavily impacted and in others across the nation - must start to uphold the laws or there is going to be more and more people taking matters into their own hands - like what happened in Arizona.
Be interesting to see McCain's actions over what was just passed - Will he anger the citizens even more - ?
It's really something how officials think they can not only break the laws but also tell others they can as well - This is not a good example to set for the younger generations - they will think this is normal - and when it keeps on happening - think nothing of it - Is that what President Bush really wants?
just my thoughts -
Liar. He avoided the subject like the plague after the January amnesty disaster.
It took massive emails to even get immigration mentioned during the debates.
I expected brazen lies from Clinton.
Stand by for parsing.
I think the next few months will be 'interesting times'...hopefully not as the Chinese curse.
IMHO...three basic issues here have to be addressed NOW, before any legislation is voted on. The American people are entitled to this debate, and clear answeres to these questions.
a) What do we do with the illegals who are here, and have broken the law entering. Do we penalize them in any way? Do we give them an advantage over the ones who have entered legally, often at great effort and expense?
b) What steps do we take to curb significantly the flow of illegals entering this country? Do we start enforcing the law with harsh penalties at the employer end?
c) How many guest workers do we need to run our economy at the various skill and wage levels. One thousand, one million, one billion, infinity?
And after we build the fence, we could work on the finger prints and photo's for those who come in here. Finger prints and photo's are relatively worthless now whenever they wouldn't have to go through those border checkpoints. With a fence, we could go hi-tech and install a bunch of sensors. The research I think would matter to border patrol is the pentagons Active Denial System since the human rights nazi's get mad when we shoot people crossing the border. Read about it here
He did huh? That will be news to more than a few million Bush voters.
Looks like "immigration reform" otherwise known as "amnesty for illegal aliens" is his top priority and where we wants to spend his political capital. Interesting.
What does this have to do with the interests of the American People?
Yeah, I know that, but he did NOT campaign on it. Give me a quote, a cite, and I'll be open minded.
OK. So even though we know Bush has always stood for immigration reform we should pretend he would not be for it in his second term BECAUSE he didn't mention it during his campaign.
Your kidding right?
Not true. Guest worker = temporary visitor making valuable contribution to the economy and working within the system
