The key is to load it with good ammo. The Chinese FMJ ball ammo that you can't get anymore was quite accurate and very cheap. Good American-made ammo (e.g., Federal) is not at all cheap, but more accurate than a Winchester 94 or Marlin 336 shooting most brands of .30-30. The Russian-made "Wolf" ammo is absolute crap and a complete waste of money, no matter how cheap you buy it.
The only thing I tried was that russian bulk ammo that comes in the 300 round battle packs. It didn't impress me with it's acuracy. It's pretty good in my mini-14 and very good in my Rem model 700 in .308, Which ammo do you suggest for it? It's a norinco but it appears to be a machined receiver.
