The strangest"hunting" I ever witnessed was in Michigan, between Holland and Saugatuck in 1972. There was snow on the ground and commuter traffic on the freeway was slowed a bit by congestion. The land is quite flat and very few trees. Something apparently moved in the distance and a number of cars braked suddenly causing the whole traffic stream to stop. A half a dozen guys get out of their cars with long guns and started firing across the field. After a shot or two from each they all got back in their cars and traffic started up again. I had a very poor opinion of Michigan sportsmen types for years but have been assured by a number of people who have lived their that that is NOT a normal event in Michigan.
