Does not shock me at all. Its deer season here in Michigan and I have seen turf arguements for years now. Last week monday I was working (I am a Logger) and my trucker came in for his third load. We are on corporate land and this old beezer tried to kick the trucker out as it was the first day of season. The trucker asked if it was bothering him to load a load in 3/4s of an hour. The coot went on a rant and grabbed his gun. In the meantime I showed up as the trucker had called me via mobile phone. I asked the bastard if it was his land and if he would like to see the inside of a jail. He was holding his rifle towards me at that time and I had my strap off my 41 mag and my hand on it (I carry for protection as there are wolves around there). His boys came and hauled him off. I let it go by for a day and then contacted a police officer to go out and have a frinedly chat with him. Aint heard from him since nor was there anyone around his camp after that.

It is getting so they fight over even turf on state and fed as well as corporate areas. I quit deer hunting over ten years ago becuase of this.

.......exactly, and the pressure is only going to get worse.....many guys spend more time hunting a place to hunt than hunting.......if a hunting spot is within an hour's drive from a population center it's probably going to be clubbed up.....if your club has it; be prepared to pay even more next year because a rival club is going to try and outbid you......as far a public hunting lands go that's a real invitation to get shot because you don't know who else is in the woods with you....

.....the pressure over recreational land use is not just with hunters either.....our farm is posted but is constantly being trespassed by hikers, mountain bikers, 4-wheelers [I hate those damn things] snow mobilers [even worse] and horse back riders......if you call the sheriff, trespass is a very
low on his priorities......and by the way if a land owner is aware of trespassers and does nothing about it, then if a trespasser gets hurt he can sue.

Your 41 mag carry; a Smith & Wesson or Ruger? I carry a 6 1/2 Smith 44 mag (had to have it) and I think I would have enjoyed the 41 more. If I shoot a 38, 357, 9mm, 45, I just set and shoot. When I use the 44 I am not as relaxed, but have made some great shots with it. I should have gone with the 41.
BTW, never shot a 41.
