EXELAND, Wis. - Five people are dead and three injured in a shooting incident that apparently began over a hunting dispute in western Wisconsin.
The confrontation began around noon in a rural area southwestern Sawyer County. Authorities said a hunting party returning to their deer shack reported seeing a hunter unknown to them occupying their tree stand. That led to a shooting.
One of the shooting victims used a walkie talkie to radio back to the deer shack for help. When the victim's hunting partners came to the scene, they were also shot.
Sawyer County was in a virtual lockdown as authorities searched for the gunman. One suspect was eventually taken into custody around 5:15 p.m.
The suspect's name has not been released.
Officials at Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake said they have treated at least three gunshot victims. They said one of the victims was transported to a hospital in Marshfield, WI. Another victim is in critical condition and is undergoing surgery. The third victim is in fair condition in the intensive care unit.
quite the Chatty Cathy.
To others here, I beg understanding. She can call me "unlady-like" all she wants but don't cross that line by questioning my relationship with my Lord and Savior.
Yes, she was and seriously disturbed too.
She gone now.
After looking over your homepage, I must disagree. That first picture of you at the top of the page reveals a very sleek and elegant lady, with gentle curves, and a natural complexion that almost glows. A classic look without he need for pretentious adornment of jewels. Yet I get the impression that when you set your sights on something, you can project more than ample power to overcome any adversity.
Thanks for the laugh, I needed it. :o)
And it bothers me immensely that she said what she did in the name of Christ.............the word blasphemy comes to mind......
You guys held your composure remarkably well.
It occured to me that I was participating in the hi jacking and I apologize for my part in it but I couldn't find it in me to let her ranting and raving go unanswered.
It's hard for me to keep quite when my beloved grandmas are being bashed by a nut case.
But it did keep bumping your thread to the top.
Folks like you all amaze me with your level-headed and controlled responses. Patience and self-control are definitely two traits I need to work on, especially when emotions take over. Yet, even now as I think about it, I'm getting quite conflicted on how I could have reacted differently.
In any case, it's good to know that should any related to the victims happen to find this thread, they won't see those terrible posts. Brings tears to my ears thinking of the pain those posts would have caused.
My eyes! My EYES!!
In the real world, I run into about one head case a week. In the real world I don't have a choice, I must deal with it. Here we can ignore, so as not to encourage.
I'm sorry your thread was hi jacked. Don't be discouraged, surely it won't happen again, soon.
My eyes! My EYES!!
Stress Related, typo.
Amen. That's what I thought, Ladysmith.
(There's a song for everything!)
Boy, I guess! ;o)

Ignoring is not always the best course of action, and I am thankful that the mods got rid of this one......
Some of these goofy typos are embarrassing! Good for chuckles, though!
There's a tear in my ear
'Cause I'm crying for you dear
