Yes it can. Vain national pride can do this and much much more.

You seem to be more upset than I, and I'm the one that actually has to work to gather the news information I desire. You seem to have it spoon fed. Why is that?

" I'm amazed that nobody in Chilean security is dead."
Or in US SS. This could have gone horrible bad in a hurry. No telling what sort of incident the President prempted by breaking it up.

You have your opinion and I have mine. And, as I've stated, my opinion is that any attempt to forcefully separate a visiting head of state from his own security detail goes beyond ego.

How many times somebody have to repeat that this post has new infos? I'm boring...
These are the same types that think they've discovered something new when they get one of those chain emails saying the post office is going to tax your email. I guess every society has it's trees and its tree fertilizer. I'm happy to join you as part of the forrest of trees.

You have a good point, and since the US is the only country that doesn't defer the protection of its head of state to the visiting country, this can't be interpreted as anything other than a slap at the USA.

Oops! Sorry! You found it already!
Yeah, it is pretty interesting having full coverage of the arrivals. Pretty obvious how much more security our POTUS had and how the tension was during this time. But, hey, the Chileans will just have to deal with it. Our President is targetted and needs every ounce of protection he can get.

The president of the USA should never rely , depend, or TRUST ! any foreign body guards or foreign security PERIOD .
The foreign body guards or security should only be a backup or help for the Secret Service. I guess John Kerrys idea to break up a fight would be to go to his French buddies and have a GLOBLE TEST before any action.
