Adding the new material to an existing thread forcesa a reader to read the entire thread to get to the latest. Is that your idea of how FR should be run?

Sorry ... but I for one do NOT like shuffling thru a few hundred posts of one thread to see NEW info about a subject that has been posted about before. If there is new info I happened to like it in a NEW thread

Perhaps we have a different understanding of the term 'new material'. Maybe we can have someone simply email you each day everything you need to know.

I bet you there's an agent on his way back to D.C. even now. When the president of the United States has to pull you out of a fight, you know you're in trouble.

Grow up...if you've read the story and feel that you've seen enough, don't click on the thread.
Some of us are linking for the first time.
Chill!

I'm very suspicious as to why the Chileans were so insistent on separating the President from his security detail. What would make them cause an international incident over a routine matter like this? IMO, ego alone cannot account for a blunder this bad.

About 18:00 minutes in, the President arrives. Very interesting video.

"...with the Chilaen security trying to throw their weight around."An attack of any kind on the President's security people is an attack on the President himself. Chile owes us an apology and some big changes in their security personnel and their training. I'm amazed that nobody in Chilean security is dead.

In Defense of the Chilean security people: This is not the first time that the US SS has rubbed other security people the wrong way. We read over and over how the SS walks in and takes over any security operation they come in contact with.
I'm not saying they shouldn't do it, but when you essentially tell people that you question their compentence to do a job, you have to expect peeing contests to erupt. This one clearly got out of hand.
Bush was great though, wasn't he?
