I'll add that "honor killing" is more a factor of culture than religion. Arabs have a tribal nihilistic culture. Other cultures kill to protect or restore family honor, but many of those are more of the romantic and chivalric type, in that it is the outsider who is held accountable. IOW, if your daughter's chastity is brought into question, it is the one who may have besmirched her honor rather than she, who is to blame.
