WTF are you taking about?

Grow some manners before you face a judge.

This has nothing to do with anything. The individual told the judge she thought she had turned her cell phone off. For crying out loud.

This girl also was playing with her phone during the court session. Sounds like she could of cared less. The judge knew this and commented on it....

"I know you've been playing with it all morning, sayonara."

This has happened to me at least a dozen times. The buttons are so small, and sometimes if you don't fully depress the off button the damn thing comes back on or fails to shut off.

You are not a 17 y/o with good eyesight that plays constantly with their phone. I have one of these things too, I can tell when it is off clearly enought. Heck, if a judge told me to make sure my phone is off, I am unpluggin the battery.

California administers a test called CBEST for substitute teachers. There are multiple written and oral warnings NOT to bring the cell phone into the test room.

Even after coming into the room, the greeter gives you another chance to put your phone on the desk and they help ensure the phone is off.

Then the proctor comes in and says that anyone that has a cellphone that rings will be automatically ejected and receive a zero on the test. That is when the phones start coming out of the purses!

The judge wasn't being a jerk. He made it clear to TURN THE CELL PHONES OFF.

The same message goes out to all of the other idiots out there that use their cell phones: while driving, while on an airplane after they were told not to use them, while in a restaraunt, while in a movie theater!
Shut it off!
