MOSUL, Iraq Twelve decapitated bodies were found strewn about the northern city of Mosul on Friday as about 400 Iraqi commandoes stormed numerous locations around the city in search of rebel hideouts.
And in Baghdad, four people were killed Friday, and at least nine wounded, while 23 suspected insurgents were arrested when hundreds of Iraqi troops backed by U.S. forces stormed a Sunni Muslim mosque after prayers, witnesses and an influential group of Sunni clerics said.
The Iraqi troops raided the mosque in the Sunni district of Aadhamiya, firing percussion grenades and damaging the doors, the Muslim Clerics Association said.
They opened fire when furious worshippers began to chant "Allahu Akbar" - "God is Great" - and tried to beat back troops by throwing shoes at them - a grave insult in Islam.
The raid followed more than 100 arrests in a Sunni area of Baghdad the day before, when the police said they detained some militants suspected of escaping the Sunni Muslim bastion of Falluja during the bloody rout of insurgents by U.S. troops.
The incident in Baghdad took place at the hard-line Sunni Abu Hanifa mosque, the last place that Saddam Hussein was publicly seen during the American invasion last year before he was found hiding months later in a hole in Tikrit.
An Iraqi policeman who was praying in the mosque said that Iraqi national guardsmen opened fire on people inside. He was wounded in the arm.
One cleric on the scene was weeping after what he said was rough treatment by the Iraqi national guard. He showed the red imprint of a boot bottom on his side.

At first I thought it read he had a boot imprint on his bottom ! LOL :D He should be thankful the Iraqi guards didn't execute them all like SaDHam would have done.

About those decapitated bodies....
Are the "anti-war" activists (and al-Jazzeera) going to try to attribute the fate of those unfortunate souls to the presence of US "occupier" troops, and are but a result of what those "occupiers" forced the "insurgents" to do?
The native Muslim population is in as much danger from these "insurgents" as if they were Jews, Buddhists or Christian.

They need to try to blockade Baghdad to keep the terrorists from escaping to there.
Take one problem city at a time, then go after the terrorist bastions in Baghdad.
Maybe we should also take up a collection of old filthy shoes, maybe covered in pig sh@t, to send over there to throw at the terrorists. They'll get mad at the insult, attack our troops insanely, be mowed down and not get to heaven.
Calling them women or little men would also make them lose all self control and come out into the open fighting insanely only to be easily mowed down by our troops and the Iraqi National Guard.

The more we read sentences like this, the more we are winning.
Per recent stories, Syria-based Iraqi Baathists are the source of the insurgency. Blockade the border and/or go for them at the source.
It's in the Koran; they get to cut off heads of Infidels. It's a real religion of peace, and these guys are very faithful to its tenets.
The Clampdown is underway in Iraq. It's overdue and you're just going to have to get your act straight or deal with the consequences.
And stop whining.
Let's just draw them all into Iraq and finish them off, wherever they came from.
Bomb all the mosques, since they are using them as military stations.
Idiots need to get an idea what secularism is, before they can grasp what a republic is.
