Good luck Gerhard. that'll teach you to be such a welcoming host. Now let's see you get rid of them.

Schroeder is delusional if he really thinks that islam will embrace German culture. Still his concept that immigrants should speak the host country language has merit.

Schroeder calls on Muslims to better integrate in GermanyI don't think they are capable of integrating into German society.

He said that the state had to insist on the fact that "our willingness to integrate corresponds to a willingness to be integrated on the part of those who come here....Schroeder placed emphasis on the importance for foreigners living in Germany to learn the language. " If a conservative American said the same things about our own country, he'd be labeled a xenophobe and/or racist.
I wonder if Germany will be seeing some terrorist response to this threat.

I think it's a great idea that people immigrating to the US learn english. I also think that it's a good idea to learn japanese if you move to Japan. That's not racism or xenophobia, it's logic.
Perish the thought that they'd be retaliated against for requiring the Muslims to learn German.

Add Germany to the list of the infiltrated. Why are these extremists crying so much about us being in their countries? WHAT THE HECK ARE THEY DOING??? They are in every country in the world. I see a pattern here but I just might be a paranoid anti-extremizoid. (man..it really is getting late isn't it.)

I think Schroeder is under heavy pressure to say something because the right-wing parties in Germany are taking the lead as the Dutch right-wing has...and elections are not that far off. If the German right-wing hardliners can get 5 percent of the vote in the next election...they get standing in the German parliament. Presently, alot of Germans are looking at the Netherlands...and are begining to realize the Muslim problem in Germany. That would really change German politics to have a extremist right-wing making speeches on prime-time tv.

...and are begining to realize the Muslim problem in Germany.Or would that be "The Muslim Question" in Germany?

The Germans have been known to endorse extreme right wing politician making loud speeches on occasion....LOL

How about this for a slogan Mr Schroeder:"INTEGRATE OR WE WILL DISINTEGRATE YOU!"
To: pepsionice
"I think Schroeder is under heavy pressure to say something because the right-wing parties in Germany are taking the lead as the Dutch right-wing has...and elections are not that far off."
Realistically, the muslims killed the Dutch Left-wing man who dared speak out against further immigration (Pim Fortyn sp?).
I feel it is, or is trending beyond simple Left vs. Right, in Europe. It did likewise here, by a big enough margin to gain Koch and Miller, behind Bush.
Muslims are hell bent on being problems, everywhere they go to, or already are. Only time will reveal if they wise up, or if they insist on a big backlash.
If they earn a big backlash, it will by definition be right and left. Another 9/11/2001 here and people will be going after arabs and muslims, including significant numbers of democrats.
I heard a smart Southern black democrat suggesting that for democrats to turn their fortunes around, they HAD to offer a strong defense posture, and HAD to demonstrate respect for protecting traditional cultural vales.
