NEW YORK After 39 at The Wall Street Journal, Al Hunt is leaving the newspaper to join Bloomberg News.
He'll take the post of managing editor for government reporting, according to memo from Matt Winkler, editor-in-chief of Bloomberg News, posted today at the Poynter Institute's Romenesko site.
Hunt, a fixture of political talk shows, is currently the Journal's Washington-based executive editor.
In another Bloomberg staff move, Rich Jaroslovsky has been named the news service's managing editor for government and economy in the Americas. Also a Journal vet, he served as the paper's White House correspondent during the Reagan administration and the first managing editor of WSJ.com before joining Bloomberg earlier this year as an editor-at-large.
Good riddance. I've always wondered why WSJ hired this guy. And I have no idea what Bloomberg hopes to gain doing the same.
Talk about a worthless flamethrower. Don't let the door hit ya, Al baby.
Sweet...
Lets hope this toothache-of-a-man is heard from on a much less frequent basis....
Maybe it is journalistic affirmative action. Bloomberg need an idiot and Mr. Woodruff was available.
Ten-point collective IQ gain for WSJ.
Same loss for Bloomberg.

I guess it would be asking too much to hope for an announcement that he is leaving CNN as well ... and taking Ellie and Maggie with him!
As far as Al Hunt the man goes, he couldn't even bother to spare a couple of nice words for Robert Bartlett on his death. I guess he couldn't even set aside his hard left ideology long enough to pay last respects to a colleague on the other side of the fence. But of course, things like courtesy and common decency are completely alien to the left, so this comes as no real surprise.
Good riddance to bad rubbish, Mr. Hunt. You scumbag.
I think he is Mr. Cokie Roberts. Mr Woodruff is Alan whats his name from the federal bank.
Creepy.
Hunt is Mr. Judy Woof-woof. Alan Greenspan at the Fed is Mr. Andrea Mitchell.
Good riddance to you, Al.
And good riddance to the horse you rode in on.
May all your lists from now on be C lists.
Instructions to blick Bloomberg.com to follow...
Judging from the crap I've read from Bloomberg, I'd say they're well over their idiot quota already.
And his wife has the hair of a poodle. Creepier yet.
Hunt was completely unappreciated at the WSJ. Now that he's working for an admitted liberal, I'm sure he'll feel more at home.
It's definitely a plus for the WSJ.
felt the same way opening the Journal oeach Thursday a.m. - i didn't even glance to opposite page to editorials that day: too much danger of bile rising!
