Al Hunt Leaves 'WSJ' for Bloomberg (Goodbye, Mr. Judy Woodruff)

NEW YORK After 39 at The Wall Street Journal, Al Hunt is leaving the newspaper to join Bloomberg News.

He'll take the post of managing editor for government reporting, according to memo from Matt Winkler, editor-in-chief of Bloomberg News, posted today at the Poynter Institute's Romenesko site.

Hunt, a fixture of political talk shows, is currently the Journal's Washington-based executive editor.

In another Bloomberg staff move, Rich Jaroslovsky has been named the news service's managing editor for government and economy in the Americas. Also a Journal vet, he served as the paper's White House correspondent during the Reagan administration and the first managing editor of WSJ.com before joining Bloomberg earlier this year as an editor-at-large.

Well it is a plus for the WSJ. In all fairness, they should have a lefty regular on the editorial page...but not a writer so knee-jerk and poorly reasoned as Al Hunt.

I feel the same way when I see a Helen Thomas column; all I have to do is to read the title and know that my blood pressure will be better off skipping the rest.

I called it the lie box...once a week in my favorite editorial page of the WSJ.

Speaking of hair, did you notice on the Jennings / BJ Clinton interview last night - a clear comb over on BJ's part??? (pardon the pun).
It's a very creative one - but a comb over none-the-less.

No, I didn't see it. I did notice of course that BJ looked like a drowned rat at his lieberry thing, but I haven't noticed a combover. I'll pay more attention now.

Thursday was the only day the WSJ ran a comic strip. Now what?

Great News!

Now if WSJ clears out those hired and trained by Hunt, I may just become a subscriber of their electronic version.

Our calls and letters have finally worked!! Now the question is, WHO will replace Hunt as not only a clumnist but head of their DC bureau and supervisor of the NBC/WSJ opinion polls?

With my luck, they will hire Ron Fournier of the AP, or the evil Dana Milbank of the Washington Post.
