I too am totally against illegal immigration. I am just wondering what the true reasoning as to why our government is not willing to just stop them at the borders. Too much money ? Too big a benefit for businesses ? No real terror threat ? They don't care that Americans are against this ? I don't know but it baffles me.

"No real terror threat ?"
If having wide-open borders is not a threat, then the entire War on Terrorism is a sham, and September 11th, 2001 was a peaceful day of rest and relaxation. It also means that there's something severely wrong with my eyes, because when I visited the site of the World Trade Center last, all I saw were gaping holes in the ground, piles of debris, and construction crews working hard.

(Conservatism begins at home. Security begins at the border. Please, someone, secure our borders.)

Too much money ? If this isn't the reason it sure looks like it.
Too much money in drugs & illegal workers, for anyone *in power* to really take an interest in stopping either.

I am just wondering what the true reasoning as to why our government is not willing to just stop them at the borders.Likely the real reason is that the minute massive immigration is slowed down in any way, revolution breaks out in Mexico and the corrupt elites are driven into European exile. Our government doesn't want that government --- corrupt and rotten as it is --- to fail or be run out of power, because as rotten as it is --- it's some form of stability.
