Toomers Corner.... What great memories! Anybody old enough to remember Sani-Flush or Kopper Kettle? I don't remember Kppper Kettle (perhaps you can refresh my memory), but the Sani-Flush (ice cream) was still a hit in the mid 80's. I remember all the little record stores that flurished around Toomer's area. The little alternative radio station would play all these wonderful gems and I would try to find the "used" records if I could. I remember cd's came out but I didn't have a cd player, albums still ruled.

The Kopper Kettle was down the street from Toomers corner. It was a great restaurant; especially for breakfast. One weekend it Blew up! I mean completely blew up! I think it was a natural gas leak; bricks and glass were blown blocks away. It was right next to a bank and the early rumor was someone was trying to get into the bank.
My girl friend (now wife for 21 plus years) lived three houses from sani-flush. Nothing like eating ice cream completely stoned or drunk!

Hey...pray for me tomorrow as my wife is an Alabama fan and I love Auburn! I might have to leave the house early! (and might have to change my sign on from Lynda's Husband to mud or worse) Here is a link to the video highlight of the always popular and awesome 1972 Alabama Auburn game where, in the 4th quarter Auburn was behind 16 to 3 when Auburn's David Langner ran back 2 blocked punts for touchdowns to beat Alabama (like a drum) 17 to 16.

And one more when our wonderful president, GW Bush, came to visit the Auburn campus.

And last but not least, THE WAR EAGLE FIGHT SONG!!!

And just to show that the fans of Auburn are truly the best, most friendly and diverse fans, we always sing Alabama a song at the end of the game. So all you Otis Redding fans be listening for "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" (just watching the TIDE roll away...)in the 4th quarter.
ROLL TIDE...WAR EAGLE!!! Give'm HELL Auburn!
