it is idiocy to report the fact that I have witnessed the decline of more than one person into religious mania, which caused the dissolution of their families, the loss of their wealth, the decline of their physical and mental well being, the termination of their social contacts, and in some cases their lonely wretched deaths?

This is idiocy to you?

And what would you call the attitude you yourself just now so kindly paraded?

You originally made analogous the affliction of "addiction" at post #35 as being the result of "born-again christianity" -- i.e., dedication to the Gospel of Jesus Christ -- to that of porn-addiction.

Despite your questionable and debatable account of what may or may not be an actual case history, I stand by my original assessment of your opinion -- it's STILL "idiocy."

I think what you may be referring to, and I believe your choice of words is correct when you say religious "mania". Actually, religiosity can be a symptom of manic depression. Everyone should know, however, that THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RELIGION, but is a manifestation of the grandiosity that is a symptom of the manic phase of bipolar disorder. If that is the case of the people you know whose religiosity you assume caused their decline, my guess it was a symptom of a real mental disorder - that it was a SYMPTOM not really the cause of the problem.

Porn addiction and religious fanaticism are not the same thing. Your post was an OBVIOUS STAB at religious people who believe porn is immoral. Not all religious people become fanatics. Not all porn viewers become addicted. But even a little PORN is inherently immoral. Whereas being religious even to excess is not inherently immoral.

...the decline of their physical and mental well being

You obviously live in a very small world and don't get to see much of the outside. Medical research shows that people with a faith in God are happier, healthier, and wealthier than the naysayers.
