Honey...re post #36, you really need to go back to Wal Mart bashing 101. Yours is the most stupid I have ever seen on these threads about Wal Mart.

[/end ranting meltdown]

Gee, Joe.
The only thing you ever post are ranting meltdowns and personal attacks.
Should we interpret this as an opus?

Why stupid? Because it's first-hand information? That's all I relayed...personal experience.

Instead of being condescending why not make an effort to "educate" me on the area where you think I am in error?

Sam Walton, Dave Thomas, and Tom Monaghan – the original owners of these three businesses - were all openly conservative and freely supported conservative causes.

Funny story. When I was in college and working, one of the newer fulltime employees there (who was a lazy pain in the backside) was rabidly pro-abortion and hated Tom Monaghan. Because of his hatred of Monaghan for Monaghan's pro-life beliefs, this guy refused to eat Domino’s Pizza. Well, when I picked up pizza for lunch I would make a point of buying only Domino’s. When I and another part-timer were sitting in our office eating, Richard the abortion-lover would smell the pizza and come ah running. I took such great joy in informing him that while he was welcome to a piece, it was in fact Domino’s. He would turn and stalk back to his office - still fat and still hungry.

What is fascinating is that nobody has identified what Wal-Mart really is, which is a "ghtto store." A lot of "stuff" piled high. A lot of cheaply made stuff, particularly clothing. And a reliance on the impulse purchase. One of the most shocking things I've ever seen in a retail store was standing in line at Wal-Mart -- patron after patron with cart loads of --well, basically cheaply made crap -- all putting it on credit cards.

I've bought clothes at Wal-Mart and I've had no problems with them.

I could be wrong, I'm not a clothing expert. The stuff looked like it was cheaply made to me.

Shocking, indeed, that a person of your so obvious high class tastes and a bulging wallet was ever in a Wal Mart. LOL

The meltdown part is simply not true. The personal attacks...OK, I'm guilty. I only save them for the Lefties that masquerade around the forum as though they are not. My personal slams are largely directed at you. Is there some sort of correlation here, Willie?

I don't have any problem with WalMart one way or the other - they are a competitive company doing extremely well.

I do have problems with America's continued dependence on foreign manufacturing because wealth is created not by selling hot dogs to each other but by manufacturing products and providing services we can sell.

Now we are shipping our minerals and trees to China - they do the processing - creating wealth - and sell the products back to us.

We are heading in the direction of African and Asian countries that once played the exact same role when they were colonies.

I'm not rich, but neither do I shop for entertainment or for stuff I don't need. If I need a pair of dress pants, for instance, I'll try to buy the best pair I can and want them to last for five or ten years. I don't impulse shop and refuse to be "tempted."

Well, I buy most of my clothes at Wal-Mart and Old Navy, so I'm not what you'd call a connoisseur of fine clothes.

Yes, only people with high class tastes and no fashion sense would want to wear a pair of slacks for ten years. LOL

I agree with you.

It's funny cause not many realize that in 6 mos. when your stuff breaks you get to go back to Wal-mart and replace it with the same cheap stuff. Wal-mart then gets twice the money when if you paid a few dollars more the first time you would have gotten a much better deal.

And little do people, like you, realize that Wal Mart stands behind its products and asks no questions when you want to return for a full refund.

Hey, after a while, they come back in style. That's why I have saved all of my yellow and lime-green leisure suits! Not only will I be hip, but it won’t cost me a dime.

You can see in my post I never mentioned China.

I know that when I buy just shoes, Walmart's are cheaply made and very uncompfortable.

Where are they made??? I dont care about that for the most part just that they are junk.

I buy mine at Sears or elsewhere where i have a choice between quality and junk. At Walmart you usually just find the cheapest stuff and don't even have a choice if your willing to pay more.

Its a wonderful free country and like i said,
GOD BLESS AMERICA.

There is no reason why a pair of slacks shouldn't last for ten years, if you take care of them. Shoes, I believe, should last vrtually forever -- with re-soling every couple of years -- if you take care of them. Blue jeans, etc. tend to last significantly shorter periods of time because of the rigors of washing.

The point is, I just refuse to fill up my life with a lot of stuff that will wear out in just a couple of years.

I have questioned some of their labor policies. They have different pay scales for different stores. They tell you they are going to pay you one thing; then transfer you and pay you less. Their insurance is also with Blue Cross/Blue Shield which is the worst. You might as well not have insurance.
