It does have better sports - the NFL deal was huge. I am more of a baseball fan, though, and MLB signed with XM. I like the idea of every baseball game available on radio for me (or most every game).

Honestly when both Sirius and XM come out with neat handhelds (XM already announced theirs) I'd consider saving up and getting both. The trick is that the handhelds don't require setting up antennas in your car and home (antenna is built in), and the unit comes with both home and car docking stations.

So I'll drive with Sirius and keep my XM in the glove compartment - I'll listen to baseball in the spring/summer when a good game in on, and Sirius the rest of the year.

Neat, small docking stations for home make home ejoyment of each easy.

It's good stuff.

Thank you for your answers.

I assumed the subscription, didn't know about whether that would have allowed in-home access without the receiver, using the internet.

Serius keeps sending me a coupon with the stock report stuff but I haven't found a good enough reason to subscribe yet.

It would be fine on trips but don't do enough road travel.
I live inside the Beltway of DC where all the talk radio is available and shortwave goes a long way.

In a couple of years when we flee to the nether regions I can see that Serius will be necessary to keep me from going postal. I emphatically know that I will need the music even though the internet does a good job of bringing on the varied types of music I enjoy and a wirelss system can transport the signal admirably.

Thank you.
