I'm glad private radio is taking off, but I don't think it will do well. Once the price goes to nearly free instead of $10 or $20 a month, it'll be worth it. Until then, it's just not something I'd see most people paying for--and buying a radio for.
Now, if they offered a Stern-plus package, for $15 a year and a free radio, people would buy in droves.

Yes, though Stern has something like a year left on his Infinity contract. He wants to leave sooner though. Stay tuned.

They are shipping money out in train car loads. What is flowing in? I know it will be a century or two before I start paying for radio.

XM-radio, the competition, is $9.95 a month. Sirius is $12.95, and how long do you think it will stay that way, with Howard Stern getting a $100 mil contract and Mel Karmazin getting who knows how much?
I was seriously pricing the two systems, Sirius and XM, just at the time that Stern made his move. That stopped my efforts cold.
Sure, commercials are annoying. But it's still cheaper to hang on local talk radio. Price is the bottom line for me.

I love my Sirius radio. I have to drive 2-3 hours every day and I have so many options available. It's nice to have FOX News in your car when there are so many breaking stories. They have a "Talk Right" and "Patriot" station which has Tammy Bruce and Tony Snow among others.
