Something postive will come out of this, I am certain of that. I find it very positive that Senators are seriously considering changing the Senate rules on filibusters. If we can get that done, Specter can have the chairmanship.

I agree. All the hard work, calls, emails, faxes, etc - kudos to AR's hard work, BTW - did not have the desired immediate effect, dumping Specter. At this point I think that would be a lost cause. But...
Specter wants the chairmanship more than anything else. And his first loyalty is to himself... not to any agenda or ideology. With continued pressure on him & the GOP he might actually be a useful advocate for us.
I hope so at least... and that might be what Rove & Bush had in mind - to hand the chairmanship as the sword of damacles over his head - ready to fall at any mistake. We'll see.
In the mean time, let's get the filibuster rule changed...
