Two......maybe three short points.

One, I don't think you are a 'sinner' because you disagree with the way the President handled this situation, but am sure that he spent time in prayer about it and had others praying for him, and you know as well as I do, that he knows the lack of character of his predecessor.

Two, I still don't think his comments were all that 'glowing.' I haven't read the transcript (it's not that important to me), but I did listen carefully, and most of the things he said were true and were double entendre (i.e. that xlinton and hil had a 'partnership'....i.e. political arrangement and not a marriage that was good for their mutual ambition), some of which made me laugh because they were so well disguised.

Three, the freeper in question had become belligerent and angry, was politely asked to stop by at least four (maybe more) calm posters and kept at it. I don't know if anyone posted abuse, but the Admin Mod asked her to stop, and it was later she was banned.

The mods monitor these things carefully, and warn people who go over the line, so I think your concern over this is unwarranted.

That's all. You're a good example of how a disagreement should be handled. Take care, matt.

Thanks for the comments.

I did hear one comment from W that was a subtle dig. It was the comment that Klintoon could shake a hand, kiss a baby, pose for a picture, etc. (or something like that)..."all at the same time". To me, pointing to Klintoon's duplicitious (or tri-plicitious or even quad-plicitious) tendencies. That was alright.

Look, we all have been subject to various kinds of thread police. And, I realize that many of us are still in hyper-sensitive campaign mode. Kind of like a combat vet that "comes home"...he's still very much on edge.

But, at some point, we have to be frank about things: have we have enough of the "new tone"? Despite the numerous times the demoCREEPs have slapped the administration in the face, when do we stop offering our cheek?

Hence my "call me a sinner" remark. I'm frankly tired of the "new tone" business and I think the speech yesterday rubbed me that way (i.e., just another serious in this new tone business). I think that you will note that I wasn't calling for the "red meat" (Klintoon is a lying, conniving, philandering son-of-a-bitch...all true, by the way), I was simplying hoping for the speech to be "toned down", excuse the pun. That's all.

And, I think that if we were to see through the "heated rhetoric" from the thread yesterday, that we would find some people are just getting fed up with the new tone stuff. It just comes out in different ways.

Hey, we're all FREEPERs. We all, generally, should be working for the defeat of liberals. When the leader of our cause seems to be friendly with or towards the enemy, I think it gives some of us warriors pause.

Just goes to prove that FR is like a big family...fightin', bickerin', arguing over stuff, but we come together to get the job done when it counts.

Thanks for the comments, ohioWfan
