Powdery Substance At Post Office Found To Be Harmless

WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. -- A Connecticut post office was shutdown for a short time Tuesday morning after a white, powdery substance was found.
According to reports, inspectors from the Department of Environmental Protection arrived on the scene to investigate the discovery, NBC 30 Connecticut News reported.
Firefighters also responded after receiving a call that a powdery substance had been found.
Authorities called for the building to be evacuated, but later reported that the substance was found to be harmless.
Other agencies also were reported to be on the scene, including the Connecticut Department of Homeland Security.
The post office is located at 10 Main St.
