One of the reasons I mentioned this was because I recalled a description of the many and intense praying and cleansing rituals performed by the 19 hijackers before their 911 operation. Part of these rituals included them anointing and perfuming their bodies to make themselves holy and pure and prepared to die.

Also Symrna, Turkey, historically ties in with the cult of martyrdom.

Then there's that word perfume.
