Gash found on vessel's cargo tank after Delaware spill
Sunday November 28, 2004

PHILADELPHIA (AP) Divers found a six-foot gash in one of seven cargo tanks on the Greek-owned tanker that leaked 30,000 of crude oil into the Port of Philadelphia, spokesmen for the Coast Guard and the vessel's owner said Sunday.

Divers exploring the listing Athos I on Saturday found holes in the underwater cargo tank closest to the stern, or rear, of the vessel and in an outside ballast tank...

...While the company maintains that something struck the tanks underwater, the Coast Guard investigation has not yet confirmed that scenario, Lt. Buddy Dye said.

More than 300 workers were fanning out along the riverbanks...

Is this the work of the Scuba Divers?

Could they have used one of the new small submarines that are on sale for a mere ten million, to fire something?
