Indian army chief visits China
The head of the Indian army, General N C Vij, is beginning a week-long visit to China. It is a decade since the last such visit, and both sides are stressing its importance. Talks are aimed at boosting mutual trust and military co-operation.
Observers see the military talks as a sign of gradually warming ties between Asia's two biggest nuclear powers.

Imam is jailed for 10 years
A former Muslim cleric has been jailed for 10 years for raping and sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl in a mosque where he was teaching. Manzoor Hussain, 42, of Bristol, England was convicted of one offence of rape and four of indecent assault.
The offences took place at a mosque in the city between July 1996 and March the following year.

Bus massacre kills 23 in Honduras
At least 23 passengers were killed and 16 wounded after gunmen opened fire on a local bus in northern Honduras. The shooting happened in the city of Chamelecon, 200km (125 miles) north of the capital Tegucigalpa. The bus - carrying mainly women and children - was driving through a busy neighbourhood when it was surrounded by the attackers who opened fire.
