Arab Israeli arrested on suspicion of spying for Iran

Mohammed Ali Ahmed Said Ranen, 56, was captured on November 9.


Israeli authorities remanded an Arab Israeli citizen in custody after he was arrested in November on suspicion of spying for Iran, Israeli security sources said.

The sources identified the suspect as Mohammed Ali Ahmed Said Ranen, 56, and said that he is from the town of Baka el Garbieh in northern Israel.

Ranen was captured on November 9 but a gagging order prevented his detention until Tuesday.
