Web: http://www.alliancedefensefund.org    Email: info@telladf.org     Phone: 1-800-TELL-ADF    ADF: Pentagon warning about Boy Scouts absurd   Release Date: 2004-11-16 Primary Category: Religious Freedom ADF Media Relations 480-444-0020 ADF:  Pentagon warning about Boy Scouts absurd SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.—The Alliance Defense Fund is calling the Pentagon's message to military bases warning them not to sponsor Boy Scout troops "absurd" and "out of touch with the law and the American people." "If you've got a problem with the Boy Scouts on military bases because the Scouts rely upon God, then you've got a problem with the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, both of which rely upon God," said ADF Senior Counsel Gary McCaleb.  "This is exactly the sort of thing American voters overwhelmingly rejected on November 2." The Pentagon issued its message to military bases as part of a legal settlement with the ACLU announced yesterday. "The Boy Scouts are a federally chartered, patriotic organization approved by Congress.  The Pentagon's announcement flies in the face of the will of Congress.  The Boy Scouts have a decades-old track record of helping society in exactly the sorts of ways that Americans want," McCaleb said. "The ACLU won't support the Boy Scouts, but they will support NAMBLA," McCaleb added.  "The Pentagon ought to show some backbone.  The ACLU is an oppressor, not a protector, of religious liberty." McCaleb said that ADF intends to monitor the situation.  "ADF is always willing to step in on behalf of highly respected organizations that are unfairly treated by the government," he said. ADF is America's largest legal alliance defending religious liberty through strategy, training, funding, and litigation. www.telladf.org   This page printed from: http://www.alliancedefensefund.org/story/?id=542  A higher standard.  A higher purpose. © 2001 - 2004 Alliance Defense Fund

The Communists have infected our country deeper than most people realize.

In addition to the CIA and State - perhaps a cleaning of the Defense Dept. lawyers should also be considered. Were not they the ones(some at least) that said don't shoot when the head terrorist were found in Afgan. - by a remote plane -

Unfor. with the wacky world - lawyers are needed to help fight a war - the right way - can't hurt the enemy too much or screams of human rights violations come raining down upon the U.S. - and only on the U.S. it seems -
