PLEASE DO NOT CALL MARINE COMMANDANT'S OFFICE
11-17-04 | Doug from Upland

Posted on 11/17/2004 2:10:39 PM PST by doug from upland

I have spoken with the Public Relations Department of the Marine Corps. They are grateful for all the calls to the Commodant's office and know their number was published on FreeRepublic.

Unfortunately, they have been absolutely overwhelmed with calls and it is taking them away from some of their other work.

We will be better served by going after the media sources to tell the whole story of what the Marines are facing.

Besides, Marines have never been known to give a damn about public pressure one way or another. They will improvise, adapt, overcome, and accomplish the mission.

Duncan Hunter is the Chair of the House Armed Services Committee.

John Warner is the Chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Good news. The Public Relations department is checking protocol to see if they can facilitate getting THIS SUPPORT THREAD to the Marine and his family.

If the Marine was in the right, he's got nothing to worry about. Believe it or not, the USMC doesn't give a s**t what the lamestream press thinks. That said, why are you so damn worried that the USMC will "sacrifice" this Marine? Are you as certain as I am that this was a righteous shoot?

Pooh...No need to use bad language or get personal....

My take of the situation is that Marine corp needs all the help it can get to offset a hostile media.

The Corps doesn't need help from a bunch of armchair commandos, many of whom lack have the requisite scrotal fortitude to view the results of sending Marines off to war. (I am not necessarily accusing you of this; but the alarmingly high number of folks who are PO'd at the reporter for filming this is enough to make me wonder WTF is going on.)

My estimate: this tape will be credited with recruiting a few hundred jihadis (who, in reality, would've been jihadis anyway).

It will also deter a few thousand from becoming jihadis when they discover that the USMC will track you down and kill you.
