Democrat slams Kerry on Hispanic outreach

WASHINGTON (AP) — A Democrat whose organization spent about $6 million to get out the Hispanic vote for Sen. John Kerry criticized the campaign's effort on Tuesday and warned that Democrats risk becoming a permanent minority if they don't do a better job.

"John Kerry did not compete adequately for Hispanic votes, period," said Simon Rosenberg, founder and president of the centrist New Democrat Network. "If we don't reverse the gains that President Bush made, we can forget our hope of being a majority party again."

[snip]

Rosenberg, 41, is considering a bid for chairman of the Democratic National Committee, but said the DNC and the Kerry campaign mistakenly assumed Hispanics would be part of their base vote, while the fast-growing Hispanic community is increasingly a swing voter group.

Among Rosenberg's complaints were the Kerry campaign and the DNC lacked a national strategy for Hispanics and did not spend enough money on advertising, enough time campaigning in Hispanic communities and employ enough people on the get-out-the-vote effort.

I think the Hispanic community is finally understanding what the far-left stands for. They CARE ABOUT NOBODY BUT THEMSELVES AND THEIR POWER.

Let this be a lesson to ALL MINORITY GROUPS who still naively think the liberal Dems care about anyone or anything other than their own power and control.

Total hypocritical losers....as Kerry exemplified.

I'll put this delicately, 'cause I don't know who the guy is, but I just found it curious..."Simon Rosenberg" doesn't exactly sound, well, Hispanic.

It has got to be scaring the wits out of the dems that a lot of people are beginning to see that feeding at the public trough is not the ultimate solution and that it takes others to put the food in that trough in the form of our hard earned dollars. If these folks begin to do the math, then there is no way they could see the (D) party as being of any benefit to them - just like income confiscation.

Simon Rosenberg?

Maybe they should get Juan Epstein (from Welcome Back Kotter). At least he was a Puerto Rican Jew.

I shouldn't assume, but a guy named Rosenberg in charge of Hispanic turnout? That sounds about as Spanish as Kennedy.

But wait. Didn't Kerry actually say "Yo quiero cerveza" at one of his campaign stops? You mean that didn't do the trick? Jeez, what a maroon!

The border patrol might start doing its job! Welfare might dry up! Fake green card and SS numbers might be exposed! How dare that Kerry treat us this way after all the bribes donations we gave him.

I caught that too.
For 'some' reason I doubt a Simon Rosenberg would be 100% in tune with 'Hispanic' issues.

Very true -- it gets back to simple history...SOCIALISM IS A FAILED SYSTEM, always has been, always will be. The libs always forget that SOMEONE HAS TO PAY THE BILLS and you cannot keep raising taxes until the system falls apart!!!! The elitist libs still cannot fathom that demonstrated concept.

One has to but look at the economies and lifestyles in the Euro-socialist countries and then look at what happened to the USSR....end of lesson. :-)

The actions of Lefty MSM is securing that reality nicely. But don't worry, John Kerry has a plan. He's keeping it in a golden arc (Terri had it hand guilded), under a fine silk cloth (Terri had it imported) and will show us this "plan" soon. It will save all libral man(ish) kind.

None of this helps if your message is wrong. The Hispanic (I thought Latino was more PC) community is hard-working, Catholic, and family oriented. They are a natural Pubbie constituency.

i'm still waiting for a CONSERVATIVE black leader to tell the black people to look at the Hispanic voters and see how much attention the dems are giving the Hispanics for voting against the libs....if more black people wake up and vote for the only party that doesn't want to enslave them to welfare forever, the democrats will have to pay attention to the black voters and DO something for them. as it is now, all the democrats have to do is slip some cash to jesse jackson and al sharpton 2 weeks before an election so they can rant about how republicans are racists and holding them back....while the dems know as long as they keep blacks and other minorities dependent on handouts, they'll vote liberal.......why can't someone point out how much better off the black population would be if they did like the Hispanic voters and vote republican and force the dems to put up or shut up and quit taking their vote for granted????

And, they know it. hard work and bettring yourself is what gets you places in this country.
Liberal/democrats give this false dream that people need not work, that somehow government has a well of money to give to people. It's like having no goal in life except a lottery ticket, and hoping that one day you will win and everything will be better. Life doesn't work that way.
You get places by working for it. Elistist liberals like Kerry and his wife can't see this because they have had everything given to them without work. They lead these people down the wrong path with false hope.

Go to school work, manage and invest your money. Money is a tool that you use to make more. That is how you make it.
