If anything, it is the RATs who need to be worried about defections. With 55 seats, we are going to be in power for the forseeable future. That encourages the likelihood not only of defections, but also of incumbant RAT Senators retiring rather than accepting extended Minority Party status.
Face it. We are in excellent shape in the Senate, and barring a cataclysmic event, we have the House locked up at least until the next round of census redistricting next decade.
