Communists believe in tradition?
I knew nothing about a three year mourning period. I just remember in july 1994 Old Kim died and the local daily newspaper interviewed some Korean War veterans. Also the news noted that the "Great Leader" would now be replaced by the "Dear Leader." Gotta love those "anti-fascist" government titles!!!
Well, that's true of course. It is the world's first Commmunist Dynasty. Of course, in reality Kim Jong il was in control after the old man croaked, but out of Korean tradition, Kim was not officially (i.e. as in official titles) named to all the senior DPRK posts (Party, State, Military) until after that mourning period had been complete.
