You: "Jesus said those who are not for me are against me! If you deny me before men I'll deny you before my father which art in heaven!"
Yes, Sophia, Jesus did say that. But you are not Jesus.
Jesus did not say "Don't let kids dress up in silly costumes and go meet the neighbors in a quest for candy."
Jesus did not say: "Thou shalt have no fun."
Nor did Jesus say: "Anything that remotely looks like some ancient pagan ritual held somewhere else is evil and demonic and you are my enemy if you partake in it."
I am sure you sincerely believe that he did, but he did not. I don't know why your threads were pulled, as I don't recall them. But I do know, just from reading what you wrote, that you need to take a deep breath and calm down.
Seriously.
Most Christians dress up their kids for Hallowe'en, and let the kids go have fun. They are with Jesus, not against him, because they believe Jesus was the Son of God. They see Hallowe'en as a fun thing without evil connotations, and they don't much like being told that they are against Jesus because they give candy to neighborhood kids, carve faces into big squashes, and yell "Boo!" at people one night a year.
They don't like the presumption of someone who speaks as though she had the authority of Jesus. You have the authority of your opinion. That's it. Most Christians don't share it. You just basically accused them of abandoning Christ for carving a pumpkin.
They think you came to the party dressed as a loon.
Seriously.
Take a deep breath.
Chill.
God does not hate Hallowe'en.
Jesus does not hate kids dressing up and having fun.
Really.
Hear! Hear! Well said!
