This report is troubling in that it suggests same sex parents are fine for raising children.

44 "families" is not nearly a large enough sample size to get a true reading on it.

Plus, it says nothing about the development of the sexual orientation of these kids.

It's actually very sad in my opinion. And another attack on the NORMAL family.

Growing up with freaky pervert parents - yeah, that's normal.

As in all fields, there are those in psychiatric/psychological circles who like to speak for the entire field, and of course the media latches on to them, especially if it fits their politically correct ideology.

I wonder if boys raised by lesbians would be more or less prone to violence... Could swing either way.

Can anyone find out where the funding for this pile of poo came from? I'm pretty perterbed that a UVA professor led it - What a sad state of affairs Jefferson's great old college must be in if this is the level of research they've sunk to.

One small difference was noted, however, in that the boys with two same sex male parents appeared highly uncomfortable when asked to sit down to be interviewed...

This ranks right up there with the greatest Leftist lies, starting with Khruschev's "We will bury you!" proclamation.

Charlotte J. Patterson has been pushing this putrid Gay agenda since at least 1990. She has the same believability of any left winger.

Define "normal." Impossible to do in regards to a human being. We are just too complex. And since parents are the primary influence, don't tell me that a boy seeing his mom kissing his other "mom" everyday is a good influence on him. Think about it...

Silicon,

this is a crock of you know what, on the shelf right next to John Kerry's crock analyses. We simply can't believe everything we read, especially when it goes against common sense. Given how strange and insecure homo/lesbian relationships are, it is impossible to believe this.

Only the left could deny that kids don't need a mom and a dad. It's so obvious, you have to have gone to graduate school to come up with that inanity.

Saying that these teens aren't any different from normal teens isn't saying much--they're all CRAZY!!

Seriously, I don't think the problems will crop up until later in life when they develop serious relationships with other people. How can you be a good (male) father when your parental role model was two dykes?

Homosexuality is not normal, moral, or healthy, and it never will be.

The NY Times (of all people) did a long article about 2 girls who were raised by a lesbian couple. The result was exactly the opposite of what this article purports. Plus children of same sex parents have a huge propensity to experiment with same-sex sex.

The two girls in question struggled with their own sexuality, one becoming a lesbian ... the other not sure but dresses and acts like a drag queen.

I wonder why they settled for merely "as normal", they probably didn't want to push their luck.

You only need to get the experts of your choosing ( or choose the people you want to claim are "experts" ) into that position where they get to determine what normal is and you can get any results you want for your study.

Totally Bogus Study. Not a RANDOM sampling.

Look at their findings:

(Children) appeared to fare better IF their mothers had a partner living at home, (IF) their fathers were supportive of the relationship, and (IF) they learned of their mothers' orientation when they were relatively young.

Given that many (IF)s, what relationship to the REAL WORLD does this Same Sex study have?

NONE.

Besides females are LESS likely to be sexual predators and thus these "researchers have DELIBERATELY excluded Male homosexuals

It's pro-HOMOSEXUAL Propaganda.

I have a very good friend raised by 2 lesbians. He is very normal, smart, well adjusted, funny. An all around good guy who loves both his moms. Oh yeah he's straight and has a Bush 04 bumper sticker on his car.

Not arguing this either way, just giving the only anecdotal info I have

I wonder if the study's "normal" families are stable two-parent homes or just houses where mom's latest boyfriend counts as "dad".

Nothing of statistical significance can be said of 44 families. But I personally think that sexual attraction isn't "learned", so when a significant study comes out I expect to see no differences between straight couples.

What I do expect to see is a population of kids who are embarrassed to go out in public with their two daddies. Even in NYC, that translates to social harassment for eternity.
