OK. If there is no God, then loving your neighbor is merely a preference, not a standard of behavior.

For a long time we have used fictional characters to get across societal issues. "Aesop's Fables" and "The Wind in the Willows" are just two that immediately come to mind.
p.s. I like SpongeBob SquarePants. :-)

You guys are all missing the point. You should love your neighbor at all costs! Even if he goes to your children's school and blows them up. You just need to be more tolerant! [note the tagline]

I'm sorry to have to break this to you, but a couple of years ago I went berserk and killed BARNEY. He is dead.
I couldn't take him a second longer.

That flushing sound you hear is your tax dollars and childrens school time being wasted while teachers mess with this tripe.

I'm assuming that, if used in public schools, he will be known as contraceptive sponge Bob.

"Love Thy Neighbor" isn't exclusive to any religion and is not necessarily a religious concept anyway. Mat 22:37-40 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
How can you say this is not necesssarily a religious concept? Where do you think it came from?
To: bird4four4
With a great big hug and kiss from me to you Won't you say you love me too?
To: lainie
It's a little known fact that Bob (aka "Sponge Bob") was originally a contraceptive sponge. When these products were discontinued (ibid: Seinfeld episode "Spongeworthy") he had to find work elsewhere. Interestingly enough, Squarepants is his actual family name.

Ping!
I think most respondents here are missing something. "Diversity," as aimed at public education, is about homosexual activist propaganda aimed at the kids.
It is very likely that they're going to turn SpongeBob and Barney into homosexualists.

I generally watch Sponge Bob rather than O'Reilly because I want to further my education. When I watch B.O. I generally regress.

Wait a sec. Which is it: diversity or unity?
