I think Sites had at least a moral duty to protect the injured prisoners by warning the Marines entering the mosque that the injured men had been left there by a previous Marine patrol. Had Sites called out to the Marines, "Those guys are injured prisoners left by another patrol." there would have been no story.

Blame Sites.

OK: Sites says that, the Marines are relaxed...

...and then one of the jihadis pops out a weapon and kills a Marine.

Would you be blaming Sites for that, instead?
