U.S. probes fatal shooting of hurt Iraqi

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - The U.S. military said Tuesday it is investigating the videotaped fatal shooting of a wounded man by a U.S. Marine in a mosque in Fallujah. Iraqis condemned the act as "cowardice" and "something forbidden in Islam."

Investigators will determine whether the Marine acted in self-defense against what a spokesman described as an "enemy combatant."

The dramatic footage was taken Saturday by pool correspondent Kevin Sites of NBC television, whose report said the man who was killed didn't appear to be armed or threatening in any way, with no weapons visible in the mosque. The slain man was among a group of men wounded in fighting a day earlier at the mosque and left there. Three others in the group were also shot again Saturday by Marines, Sites said.

The Marine involved in the fatal shooting was withdrawn from the battlefield pending the results of the investigation, the U.S. military said.

Thank you, NBC. Go after our fighting Marines in the middle of combat and you're going after all of red Americans. And the Pentagon can't hamstring, micro-manage, and second-guess our troops when they shoot the enemy. The Marines will have to have sensitivity training, and ask permission before taking out the enemy.

"We saw the troops entered the mosque after they shelled it," he said. "And we saw the effect of bombardment on the mosque walls."

This video should create another few thousand or so Jihadists chomping at the bit to kill American soldiers. Nice work Kevin Sites. Next time a suicide bomber rams his car into a US patrol, ask yourself if maybe he was motivated by your video, and if it was worth it.

As opposed to the terrorist firing upon American troops from the mosques and minarets. What he is really saying is that by simply entering the mosques as infidels, they are violating the sanctity thereof. I'm sure he has no problem with terrorists using mosques as fortresses.

Correct me if i am wrong, but according to the Genvea Convention, once an enemy uses a place of worship or any other historical site as a base of operations, that site loses it's protected status, as do the combatants inside............... no protection, waste 'em!

Let's see, does this restriction apply to dragging deam men out of cars, setting them on fire and hanging them from a bridge? Does it apply to cutting off the heads of civilians in front of a camera? Does it include storing vast amounts of weapons in a mosque and then crying crocodile tears when the mosque is fired on? The list is endless and when these a$$wipes clean up their own act they can start preaching about war crimes.

The man deserves a medal; one less terrorist off the streets. NBC must know that these animals are willing to die to kill Americans, and if the soldier feels the room could be rigged with a bomb then he should have killed them all. Especially the wounded terrorist pretend to be dead.
