I just saw Sites on MSNBC and he's backing off big time.
He read a prepared statement saying, "troops have been professional," "the situation was very confusing" and "only the soldier knows if he felt threatened."
Sites looked very nervous...
Put on MSNBC, they are sure to re-run it in the next hour or two....
So Sites, turned the tape over to Reuters and didn't know (care) what Reuters would do with it? Something doesn't add up with that.
Sites should be nervous. But backpedaling won't help now since an investigation with possible prosecution will have to occur. That's the reality he's created.
