And unlike you, I won't defend Sites. I condemn him for the hell he is putting this Marine and our country thru, and the further risk they will be subjected to.
NB who?? Never heard of them!
Where is NBC's headquarters? If the anti-war people can get a couple hundred thousand people to march...why can't we, who support our military and this marine. Why can't someone draw a huge march in about a months time. That should be long enough to spread the word far and wide that getting Bush reelected was the first step...it's time to take our country back from the socialist media that is trying to destroy our militarys morale. If we don't do something about this now....we will only have ourselves to blame. Any ideas.
The man was afraid for his life. Therefore, he took no illegal action. Case closed.
Please see post 518 on this thread. I posted a few phone numbers and e-mail addresses (and other info) there in an effort to help support this brave Marine.
Thanks, I'll do it now.
He's a recent High School graduate; he was probably an average student, pursued some form of sport activities, drives a ten year old jalopy, and has a steady girlfriend that either broke up with him when he left, or swears to
be waiting when he returns from half a world away. He listens to rock and roll or hip-hop or rap or jazz or swing and 155mm howizzitor. He is 10 or 15 pounds lighter now than when he was at home because he is working or fighting from before dawn to well after dusk.
He has trouble spelling, thus letter writing is a pain for him, but he can field strip a rifle in 30 seconds and reassemble it in less time in the dark. He can recite to you the nomenclature of a machine gun or grenade launcher and
use either one effectively if he must. He digs foxholes and latrines and can apply first aid like a professional.
He can march until he is told to stop or stop until he is told to march.
He obeys orders instantly and without hesitation, but he is not without spirit or individual dignity. He is self-sufficient. He has two sets of fatigues: he washes one and wears the other. He keeps his canteens full and his feet dry. He sometimes forgets to brush his teeth, but never to clean his rifle. He can cook his own meals, mend his own clothes, and fix his own hurts. If you're thirsty, he'll share his water with you; if you are hungry, his food. He'll even split his ammunition with you in the midst of battle when you run low.
He has learned to use his hands like weapons and weapons like they were his hands. He can save your life - or take it, because that is his job. He will often do twice the work of a civilian, draw half the pay and still find ironic humor in it all. He has seen more suffering and death then he should have in his short lifetime.
He has stood atop mountains of dead bodies, and helped to create them. He has wept in public and in private, for friends who have fallen in combat and is unashamed. He feels every note of the National Anthem vibrate through his body while at rigid attention, while tempering the burning desire to 'square-away' those around him who haven't bothered to stand, remove their hat, or even stop talking. In an odd twist, day in and day out, far from home, he defends their right to be disrespectful.
Just as did his Father, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather, he is paying the price for our freedom. Beardless or not, he is not a boy. He is the American Fighting Man that has kept this country free for over 200 years.
He has asked nothing in return, except our friendship and understanding. Remember him, always, for he has earned our respect and admiration with his blood. And now we even have woman over there in danger, doing their part in this tradition of going to War when our nation calls us to do so. As you go to bed tonight, remember this shot.. A short lull,
a little shade and a picture of loved ones in their helmets.......
Prayer wheel for our military... please don't break it. Please send this on after a short prayer.
Prayer Wheel
"Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen."
Prayer : When you receive this, please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our ground troops in Afghanistan, sailors on ships, and airmen in the air, and for those in Iraq. There is nothing attached.... This can be very powerful.......
Of all the gifts you could give a US Soldier, Sailor, Coastguardsman, Marine or Airman, prayer is the very best one.
You may be right that there was some confusion, but that seems to be beside the point as the young Marine PERCEIVED a threat and he acted on it in self defense as he thought the guy was faking death. He knew the terrorists and their SOP and he made a reasonable judgement that there was a threat and acted on it accordingly - and, to me, correctly. As Col. John Lewis said tonight on the Joe Scarborough show, the marine had an inherent right to self defense - and we cannot deny our troops that right.
I see FR's fakeroos are all over this topic tonight
The election has been won
The hour is here
Tag 'em and bag 'em
That pansy Socialist Euro-Weasel John Nicholson is on WABC 770am NYC right now with John Batchelor
Hard to believe he is really a Scot -- Nicholson sounds more like a lipstick thespian......
Clue Nicholson: We don't care what you think over there!
"Illegally killed Iraqi insurgent fighter"
Lead Story -- John Nicholson - London
Crater time Travis........
I've already called those and e-mailed them hours ago. It is done. Bush and Cheney were the first ones I e-mailed. I've got unlimited minutes on my phone, I'll call the white House in the morning. I would call more than once but they ask what state your calling from.
BINGO!
Beautiful - have you posted this here?

But we can also admit error.
If we had captured this area previously, why did we leave behind 5 wounded men? Were they bound? Did we leave medical supplies? Were they totally hors de combat?
Were they not truly prisoners? If they were prisoners, then why weren't they bound and why was the REPORTER the only one who knew what was going on?
I'm not saying we should just hang the Marine. Au contraire (a little frog lingo for you), I'm saying we should investigate this more thoroughly, and there might be fault elsewhere. Or maybe none. But the video itself needed to be released...it's the commentary on it that is the problem.
Also, Col. John Lewis says that the Marine had an inherent right to self defense. Do Americans agree with that? If not, then our military should (much to our consternation) adjust. If they DO, then let's make sure it's out there clearly for us all...that ALL Americans have a right to self-defense. (Of course, when I go down to Philly, I can't shoot someone and call it self-defense just because I perceive a threat and have no evidence of it...but still, I should have the right to keep and bear arms there, right?)
He said the biggest race of the year is being broadcast on enemy NBC this Sunday. FOX has the Nascar races for 1/2 the season and NBC the rest. He says FOX does a better job at televising the races.
The race this weekend is supposed to be a BIG ratings getter for NBC. Maybe something can be done there? He said he won't watch, or if someone has a different idea-he'd go along. Nascar fans support our troops. How about contacting the drivers? Any ideas ? They media is completely out of control. They need a STRONG message. They are putting our troops in danger.
This is war - these people were trying to kill our guys.
And, yes, there should be an inherent right to self defense in a war zone - to deny our soldiers that right is immoral.
The video CLEARS the Marine as the words prove it was done in self defense as he thought the guy was "faking death."
And errors are made in war - best to err on the side of caution when faced with a possible life and death decision.
Also, and I have not heard anyone comment on this, but I would be very curious to know the nature and extent of the young marine's head injury the day before and the circumstances around that incident - that might have great bearing on all this as that would be very traumatizing.
And you are right - this should be investigated and all the facts, all the extenuating circumstances should be revealed. Then I hope and pray this young marine is exonerated - he should be.
Being inundated with emails has worked in the past. I'm not a Nascar fan but that will make it hard for the real fans if it's on NBC.
Why don't you bugger off troll? Be gone!
I don't have any ideas, but Nascar sounds like a good one.
Alright, I have written, called, and emailed everyone suggested on this thread, and then some!!! If there is anything else I can do, please ping me!!! I'm am beyond outraged at this BS!!!
BUMP!
