Colin Powell's departure as Secretary of State is being seen in the circles that lost the recent election as the departure of the last Administration "moderate," whatever that word is supposed to mean. But we suspect President Bush sees it as his chance to select a successor who can turn the diplomatic corps into an ally and advocate of his foreign policy.

What a shocking concept. Turn the U.S. State Dep't into an ally instead of an extension of the U.N.
The striped pants crowd in Foggy Bottom has tend to push mushy liberal initiatives regardless of what Administration happened to be in power. Its high time for a decisive change in the way State presents America's face to the rest of the world. NO MORE BEING NICE TO FRANCE.
Powell it seems is a one worlder and I am an American first.
Powell has led an unAmerican State Dept. that leans towards any socialist country and against the U.S. it is a wonderful thing that Miss Rice will take over at state, finally Mr. Bush may get the backing from his own state dept.
Miss Rice needs to get rid of the many klinton holdovers that have worked against what Mr. Bush has tried to do. Something Mr, Powell refused to do.
I sincerely hope Dr. Rice performs a major house cleaning in that cesspool of liberalism.
Yep, it's past due and now the Clinton hold overs must go!
Good news!
All the screaming at the CIA, by present (soon to be unemployed) and past employees will shortly be muted, compared to the noise of emptying desks and slamming doors at the State Department. ;)
It gets better and better every day.
Be prepared for a flood of "tell all" books as unflattering to Bush and Rice as possible. Expect them to get a lot of hype from the Legacy Media, too.
The next story I want to hear is resignations from the State Dept. because Dr. Rice is so MEAN to the entrenched establishment there. That's what we are hearing about the feckless CIA, now that Porter Goss is cleaning house there. The media will tell us if a Bush appointee is doing an effective job, although their stories are always served with their special whine sauce.
For sure, but like anything that is done over and over, adnauseum, the only ones who will drink that vinegar will be those who are already soured. ;)
I have high hopes. Powell became a tool of the entrenched leftists at State (like Kerry's father). I hope Condi can clean house. See tagline.
It is time to clean up the State Department in manner similar to what Gos is doing at the CIA.
Yep....Hey Condi wanna borrow my baseball bat?
I'm waiting until Condoleeza Rice gets into a stare down with Kofi Annan. Get your cameras ready, because it's going to be a priceless moment.
Nope. They'll come out, fail to find jobs, write books, and get all the publicity they want. There will be plenty of noise.
For those at State "Nuance" is the name of the game at all costs........I'm sure they're so sad Johnny F'in didn't win.......Boo, hoo.....so blue.
I think the morons at State need to do a long tour of duty through the middle east and north africa, but without access to visas. Those that develop a new appreciation for America, we can use. Those that don't, we can leave there as human shields, decoys for the terrorists to target.
