Scarborough Country - Good Show Tonight
Scarborough Country, MSNBC

Posted on 11/15/2004 7:31:21 PM PST by Joann37

Scarborough is currently discussing the heroism of the Swift Boat Vets and their impact on the election. He is lauding their efforts big time, and trashing the MSM.

Next, he'll discuss the Oil for Food scandal.

His show hasn't been that good lately but it's very good tonight. His panel includes Pat Buchanan, Jack Burkman, John Fund and Leslie Marshall (a liberal radio host).

I listened for a few in the beginning...had to turn Pat off. He was in such a panic about GWB putting Condi in as SoS I couldn't stand listening.

But God Bless Joe for sticking up for the Swifties...gotta hand it to him for that.

Then he went and ruined it all by trashing Condi Rice with sidekick Buchanon.

John Fund and Leslie going at each other on holocaust vs. genocide. Good stuff.

Oil for Food coming up next....anybody see the Senate hearing today? I saw some of Duelfer and he was sweating bullets. Graham, Coleman, and Levin asked him just the right questions to expose it for all its nasty, corrupt self.

That's the UN for you.

Pat and John Just Slammed Leslie. She was called American tactics in Vietnam a Holocaust and Genocide And they jumped on her with both feat and set her straight about the Killing Fields of Cambodia and Vietnam being a direct cause of the American withdrawal. The withdrawal was caused by the peace movement and John Kerry and they basically said that the pacifists of the 60's have blood on their hands.

I am glad there are some who are unashamed to tell the truth about these pacifist fascists. Oh, by the way they shut that B*TCH up but good!

The more I listen to Pat B. the more I believe that he's pro-Pat and anti-America.

Pat had as much to do with getting Clinton elected the first time as anyone. George H. W. Bush had almost a 90% approval rating before Pat did his hack job on Bush in the primaries. Pat can kiss my ___ forever!!!

These guys are like yo-yo-s lately - Bad before the election but after - trying to make up - Like what Hill- Clinton is doing - setting a record to look conservative already - 4 years ahead of time -

Listened to parts of O'Reilly tonight - he put together M.M. and the Swift Boats - talking about the hateful actions of both - except for that and one other thing - his show was also good and for the U.S. -

Games they play to keep faking it - in my opinion -

He opened by reporting that President Bush specifically said he wants Rice to "clean house" in the State Department.

Both Joe and Pat were negative about Rice's appointment.

They were pretty good, though, in the segment about the Swiftees.

Why?

Why?

They were upset about the idea of Condi "cleaning house" in State.

Buchanan kept basically calling Dr. Rice a lightweight. He repeatedly said that she's a good "staffer," but not right for Sec. of State.

John Fund pointed out that she had been provost at Stanford, and Joe cut in and chided Fund, saying, "Come on, you as a conservative are pitching her position as an elitist at an elite university?" (Not verbatim at all, but the best my faulty memory can do)

They weren't negative about HER, but saying that with her appt and the Pres. saying he wanted her "to do a top-to-bottom cleanup of the State Dept." it was gonna bring some blood in Wash. Really shake things up.

Joe said it was going to really go after the State Dept. bureaucracy. (He's very for streamlining wasteful bureaucracy, when he was in Congress he introduced a bill to abolish the Dept. of Edu.) Pat was more negative, just saying he thought it would be such a mess, blah, blah.

Why?

They were of the opinion that someone else would be better suited to do the housecleaning. They might be right.

He's been good since the Republican convention. He's better than Greta. As good as Hannity and Bones. Brit Hume is better than all of them

I just watched the Oil-for-Food segment.

This story is really starting to take off!

It's amazing how this was all reported here on FR 3 months ago and the Legacy Media (formerly MSM) are just now starting to report it and everyone wants to know, "How could they have missed such a story?"

Hello!? They ignored it!

Speaking of the Legacy Media...don't know the guy's name who was on Scarborough tonite...the guy with the short gray hair and glasses...he specifically referred to the "Legacy Media".
I think he must be a Freeper or a lurker because I believe the term was coined here on FR right after Rathergate.

I agree with you completely. There were MANY times running up to the election when I couldn't stand the positions Scarborough was taking AGAINST the President. Yet he claimed to support him. When he gets like that, I just turn him off (for days at a time).

And you're right about O'Reilly tonight. He put Michael Moore and the Swift Vets in the same category. I guess that's why I was glad to see Scarborough giving them so much credit tonight - they've been trashed by so many others that it's good to see someone give them the credit they deserve. May God bless them for their service in Vietnam and for keeping Kerry out of the White House.

Thanks for the summary. I guess this just solidifies my opinion of Pat. He's the kind of guy who just prefers to complain about what a mess things are.

The man you refer to is Jed Babbin. I think he was assistant secretary of defense under Reagan or Bush 41.

I think he is very credible and always seems to make pertinent points on these shows.
