Hey Nutmeg - thanks for all your Pings! I also remember we had the best signs! Freepers are a clever bunch! Theirs were all copies. And when their bussed in crowds left, they left the signs all over Lieberman's lawn. Remember we went and cleaned up their garbage too! It was a GREAT day and the comeraderie was wonderful!
Your account of the Kimber incident was very interesting... I wasn't aware of the "youngish girl" who was milling around, then snapped the photo of Tom Scott, Race and Boise Kimber on the truck. My husband and I just noticed the very bizarre Kimber heavily leaping up onto Race's truck, appearing to lunge at Race and Tom. Then he smiled this huge smile, maybe waved a bit to the crowd, then leaped back down to the street. It all happened so fast!
My husband ended up in a great AP photo from that rally. In the pic, he's blowing a plastic horn, and there are Viet Nam vets in back of him shouting, pointing to the lefties and holding some great signs. (Remember - we were mostly protesting algore's and LIEberman's wishes to stop counting the overseas military votes.) I unfortunately have no link to that photo, so I don't know how to post it. :-(
Anyway, with the exception of the strange incident with Kimber, the "LIEberman FReep" was one of the most amazing rallies we've attended!
