MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) -- A third political party forming in West Virginia is only in its infancy but offers "the truly conservative person" a voice and a choice, its organizers said Monday.
The Constitution Party advocates a smaller, less intrusive federal government that operates within the strict framework of the U.S. Constitution and "its foundation in Biblical law."
"I guess we're what you would call the ultraconservatives," said Secretary Brenda Donnellan, a Lewis County resident.
The Constitution Party, which plans to petition for ballot access in the coming year, supports the death penalty and a patient's right to sue doctors and insurers but opposes abortion, gay rights and gambling. It urges abolition of several federal agencies and rejects U.S. participation in international trade, environmental and political organizations, including the United Nations.
The Constitution Party began in 1992 as a coalition of state parties that formed the U.S. Taxpayers Party, then changed its name in 1999. It was on the ballot in 37 states this year and claims to be the nation's fastest-growing third party.

Oh no, CWO, no one would ever peg you for a Republican cheerleader...never...my bad. Peace out.
Only idiots would flame you. Your post is spot on.
A no one would peg you for being a reasonable objective person. Good thing we aren't allowed to cross threads or I'd post your comment from the Trade Policy thread. Unless of course you don't mind me posting it here so people can read your objectivity.
I take that as a no? What a shame, I'm sure folks would love to see one of your intellectually honest comments.
I'll check in later or tomorrow to see if you have backed up your position yet, while you explain the verses in my #138.
That's why its so hard to understand why we don't have a conservative party.
Sorry, back from dinner, post away.
"Both parties agreed to leave these issues off the debates because both parties have destructive plans for our sovereignty."
Of course this is your allegation as to why Kerry didn't openly campaign for trade tariffs in Ohio. Yes, very insightful and astute...well, just plain fringe really.
What are you talking about? The Dems have been making anti-Israel statements for years and the Jews voted 85% for Kerry. Explain that.
Hon, it was posted on an FR thread that a campaign manager said neither party was going to allow immigration into the debates, that it would not be brought up, and there was a bru ha ha over it amongst the delegates, did you hear a discussion about immigration in the debates? I didn't.
If you don't think the FTAA treaty, due to be brought up before the congress Jan. 25,2005, is not a bad, borderless, infringement on our sovereignty, read it again.
It doesn't even take being astute to figgure that out.
You ain't tellin' me nothin' I don't already know.
The American Jewish community is dominated by self-hating liberals who are so ashamed of introducing the Biblical G-d to the world they have to redefine "Jewishness" so that it means opposition to the Biblical G-d.
But as Alouette reminds us, liberal Jews are aborting, intermarrying, and queering themselves into oblivion. One day Orthodox Jews will be the only Jews left, and they will be governed by G-d's Law.
Quite the reach there...and not very astute. Just another example of your knee jerk comments.
Or the ones they created for themselves. ;)
Ugh...WV has enough problems without these nuts.
I know you're trying to goad me (like you "enlightenment" types always try to do to us Fundies), but since you have absolutely no knowledge about the transmission of the Holy Torah, you are only making a fool of yourself.
What's the difference between your kind and the Heartland hating libs of the past two weeks? Very little.
West Virginia "Sharia" law?
Why don't you try refuting all those verses instead of attacking me? Perhaps you can't, is that it? Those verses speak for themselves.
The 10 Commandments pre-existed Moses.
Maybe I am very pesssimistic, but I don't like it at all. He can actually be succesful.
